Shenandoah

     Shenandoah County Virginia was created in 1772 from Frederick County. For the first six years of Shenandoah’s existence, it was known as Dunmore County. In 1831, some of is southeast lands were relinquished to help create Page County and in 1835, some of its eastern lands were relinquished to help create Warren County. Shenandoah means Daughter of the Stars. Woodstock is the county seat.
