The Daniel Smoot and Thomas (Harbison) Shaw Families
of Lincoln/Moore County Tennessee
(A Family Record)
Transcription by Frederick K. Smoot

The following is a true copy of the notes dictated by Susan Sophia (Suzie) Smoot Henegar, daughter of Daniel Smoot and Ann Porter Shaw. The original notes were made shortly before Suzie’s death in 1943 and made from her death bed. They are now (1999) in the possession of a granddaughter, Mary Henegar Springer. This transcription is made from a photocopy of the original. For clarity, some comments, etc. have been added. The additions will always appear in blue brackets like this: [xyz ]. The first section below was drawn as a family tree, but does not work well in this HTML format. I have converted the tree to list format and added notes.
